• Valhalla SA-MP 6.0 Released

  After a lot of hard work and a lot of time put in by the scripting team into tis newest patch, 6.0 is finally released. This newest patch has brought many numerous changes to the server, most importantly its move back to Los Santos. In addition, smaller towns like Dillmore, Blueberry, and Palomino Creek have been scripted in with houses and other facilities.

  The Administrator team and others tested out the patch last night for any bugs or errors that might have remained. Most of those bugs should be fixed now.

  Here are the patch notes written by Head Scripter Dexter:
  -Added pink names for VIP members.
  -Removed most of SF.
  -Added RCSO.
  -LSPD was redone.
  -FBI was replaced with LSPD Detective branch.
  -Added Bank in Palomino Creek.
  -Added over 30 houses.
  -Added a few donator businesses, and houses.
  -Re added the Taxi Job.
  -Added Hitmen HQ.
  -Added Hitmen faction cars.
  -Carjacker level 5 required to drive house cars.
  -/Changename fixed.
  -Accounts are no longer deleted.
  -Redid GM system.
  -Got rid of real estate spam on payday.
  -Added /houses for viewing available houses.
  -Added icon to the bank entrance.
  -Added Fred Day’s boat.
  -Fixed most of the house car spawns.
  -Fixed houses 125 and up.
  -Added /payday.
  -Added /removejob for GMs and Admins.
  -Removed Bratva
  -Added cars in towns around LS.
  -Added 24/7’s in towns around LS.
  -Several minor bug fixes.
  -There has also been an economy wipe. Anyone with over 2,000,000 in their bank will be set down to 2,000,000.

  This patch is brand new and has only been going on for 24 hours or so, and if you find a bug in game, please do not hesitate to report it in this thread.

  Finally, the server may be down more than usual due to the fixing of some bugs in a few hotfixes. As always, please check this thread which will always tell you the status of all the Valhalla servers.

• Staying in Los Santos

  Hello all, earlier today there was a poll released which asked the community: Do you want to move to Las Venturas or stay in Los Santos? The community voted very closely in the poll, according to the results. The results were 182-168 favoring Las Venturas. However, as the results show, it is extremely close to a split and therefore the community has decided not to move to Las Venturas. Instead, smaller towns nearby Los Santos will be scripted in and San Fierro will be unscripted.

• SAMP Upgrade - 0.2X

  Hello all, a new SAMP client was released last night and Valhalla took the time to upgrade. It is highly recommended that all players upgrade to this newly released client because your game will not work if it is running anything other than the client 0.2X.

  New features in this client include:

  - Fixed insecure handling of private messages.
  - Fixed packet fragmentation/MTU issue.
  - Various security updates to the netcode and connection logic.
  - Security updates to the client binaries.
  - Removed compression from the aiming vectors to improve accuracy.
  - Added seconds to server logs and also shows raw incomming UDP connections.
  - OnVehicleMod/OnVehiclePaintjob/OnVehicleRespray includes the origin playerid.
  - Added OnPlayerUpdate, a callback fired for every player network update. This will help server-side anti-cheat.
  - Limited filterscripts to 16.

• Valhalla Gaming under new leadership

  Today, Saturday, November 15, 2008, our leader for the last 5 or so years announced in a post on forums, with a tear on his cheek, that is going to hand over the ownership to somebody else.

  SainT motivated his action, reasonably I say, with his real life problems. As he let us know, he is the proud father of two and he needs to support them. He felt as he cannot offer Valhalla enough of his time.

  He will still be around, on forums and maybe on Ventrilo, but he will only care about small-time techincal matters.

  SainT stated that he has been negociating for a while now with the new owner. He gives us his word that lets us on safe hands as this new guy proved to be a mature person who cared about our comunity for a long time.

  I will take the risk to speak in the name of all Valhalla Gaming members and thank SainT for bringing us where we are, for everything that he made possible. SainT you will always be our leader.

  As for the new owner, OverDrive, I can only hope that he will do atleast as good as SainT did and will open even more horizonts for Valhalla Gaming.

• vG MTA Opening Information

  The latest news on the brand new vG MTA!

  So far all has gone well and many things are being done to ensure the server is ready for you guys to enjoy!

  And the recent merge with the Concrete Gaming Community too has gone well, many members are now posting on the forums and are making new friends with other members and this is how it should be.

  Now, on to the good part!
  The vG MTA server owners have released the time and date of opening of the new vG MTA server!

  The following dates have been adjusted since last night but hopefully this time and date will stay.
  The server IP and Port will be posted on the forums at 9pm GMT -0.

• Merger

  Hello Community,

  As you know, there has been many talks and hype about adding the addition of MTA (Multi-Theft Auto) to our production. We have taken the liberty to discuss options with a pre-existing community within MTA (specifically roleplaying) and have worked out a deal to where they will be merging with Valhalla Gaming.

  The community is called Concrete Gaming (www.concretegaming.net) which will now be under Valhalla Gaming. Below you will find a list of terms from each community that we have agreed upon.

  Valhalla’s Terms

  *Concrete Gaming community merges with Valhalla Gaming’s community. Concrete Gaming will be carrying name Valhalla Gaming from there forth.

  *Your Head Administration (Our Lead Admins) will merge with our current administration and you will have one person be the community lead from you head administration for MTA.

  *Your faction setup will not change, we only ask that you respect pre-existing members of factions in SAMP should they want to join the same faction in MTA.

  *We will host all the servers/ventrilo/website and there will be no costs to your team.

  Concrete Gaming Terms

  *We will lead the MTA branch within Valhalla’s community. We make our own choices, we take server owners opinions into consideration.

  *After the merge, there is no Concrete Gaming, therefore there is no way reversing the merge. Former people from Concrete Gaming will be considered as individuals and cannot be categorized as a group.
  *We keep our server management teams - MTA Mapping Team, MTA Storyboard Team, MTA Advertisement Team, MTA Scripting Team, MTA Faction Review Team. The leaders of the groups will remain as ones and make decisions within the team.

  *The access to the MTA script source files needs to be strictly limited to people who the MTA Community Leader assigns.

  *The Owners, Community Lead and Head Administrators decide the rest of the administration teams structure and members in the MTA and SAMP branch.

  *The members from pre-existing factions from your community will be strictly monitored. We leave ourselves the right to remove any factions which do not qualify for the MTA Faction Review Team.

  *A donation package system, merging the two ideas will be discussed. All previous donators will have their donation rewards given.

  If anyone has any questions or concerns about this merger, you can route them to Bobby Light or myself. We feel this will only help Valhalla Gaming grow to be _the_ best gaming community alive. We will struggle to accomplish this until it happens.

• Rising Sun Bank: Proving Valhalla Role-Play’s quality

  

   

   

   

   

  As our server’s population and Role-Play level increases day by day all the factions and organizations must keep up with it and show more Role-Play opportunities and quality.

  There was always a faction that sweeped the way towards higher grounds and achievements for all the other. Now something was needed, something to prove our server’s originality once again, something materialized into Yakuza’s brand new idea of having a private bank to compete with San Andreas Bank, server’s scripted, governamental bank.

  Yakuza became, for quite a while now, one of the most trusted organizations in Valhalla, both ICly and OOCly. For this reason and because I’ve noticed we have a few donators as members the idea of founding a private bank was born.

  The basic idea of it is simple: we, Yakuza’s donators, have great interest rates but, in order to get rich from it we also need big amounts of money to receive the interest from. On the other hand there are lots of rich people who don’t have interest rates as high as ours. If they loan their money to us then we can split the interest gained from it with them.   What does count is the fact that Valhalla Gaming is capable to develop new Role-Play methods to keep the curent players focused, get more loyal players and make the ones that disrespected it feel bad about it.
